2021 Jayco Jay Feather Micro J aycos new Jay Feather Micro hits a home run by tapping into both the demand for off grid capabilities and the ability to be towed by smaller vehicles The Micro trailers have floorplans ranging from 13 to 23 feet long and dry weights starting at 1500 pounds making them the perfect off road companion especially for the COVID campers who want a trailer to continue their active lifestyle during the pandemic The smallest model the 12SRK resembles a teardrop camper featuring a rear facing outdoor galley with a flatscreen TV Dometic portable refrigerator and Blackstone griddle Inside a futon and some simple cabinetry allow adventurists to sleep up off the ground while an optional Thule awning is attached to a roof rack for gear A simple camper the 12SRK has a 255 gallon fresh water tank no holding tanks but an optional air conditioner in the cabin The light weight of these models is to some extent a result of using Azdel composite panels for assembling the box Azdel saves weight and makes the body panels impervious to water intrusion a benefit for trailers that will be used in rough conditions Around the outside sporty vinyl graphics in grays and blacks fade into a white background Like the 166FBS the larger models have an optional customer value package with an 11 foot long power patio awning with LED lighting Standard are exterior speakers with LED effect lighting and an LCI Jack It bike rack Theres ample storage on the outside an exterior refrigerator and black tubular nerf bars guarding the lower edges of the body Black fender flares further complement the units aggressive stance atop Goodyear 16 inch off road tires The package rides on a single rubber torsion axle which is lifted to improve ground clearance The 166FBS is a larger model that features a slideout and all the features expected in a modern RV including an inside galley corner bath front bed and a jackknife sofa There are two interior décor choices vintage washed gray and Jaycos modern farmhouse a combination of earth tones and white washed woods popular with consumers The interior of the 166FBS is roomy for a trailer its size The sofa slide which features fold up patent pending table trays for the two outside seating positions increases the floor space Across from the sofa the well equipped galley has a surprising amount of prep space and storage Forward of the galley is the TV cabinet and additional ward and drawer storage and the front bed The trailers rear holds a 6 cubic foot refrigerator an 8 cubic foot 12 volt model is an option pantry and corner bath The bath has a corner shower stall toilet sink and vanity plus some added storage everything thats needed We had so many requests from both dealers and consumers over the course of the last few years to come out with a larger single axle trailer that catered to that midsize SUV said Product Manager John Fisher But todays camper especially because weve added so many new campers due to the pandemic a lot of them want to go off grid Theyre adventure campers Theyll strap on their kayaks and their bicycles and just want to get out of town Thats where we went with this Jay Feather Micro series with a rugged off the grid type trailer 166FBS SPECIFICATIONS Length 19 8 GVWR 4995 lbs MSRP Starts at 25950 RVB 54 RVBusiness J A N U A R Y F E B R U A R Y 2 0 2 1 ADVENTURE CAMPING
