NEWS inFOCUS Keynote speaker Jason Hewlett entertained the crowd with impersonations of famous singers while cleverly weaving a motivating message of delivering your signature move into his presentation FRVTA Convention Returns to Form with a Mix of Pressing Business Social Activities It was probably the most well attended convention weve had in many many years FRVTA Executive Director Lance Wilson said of the Florida state associations annual event which featured presentations by RVIA President Frank Hugelmeyer and RVDA President Phil Ingrassia A year after the event was canceled due to Hurricane Irma the 38th Annual Florida RV Trade Association FRVTA State Convention returned in 2018 as more than 225 people descended on the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort Spa in Bonita Springs Fla Sept 6 8 for three days of presentations seminars and networking activities It was probably the most well attended convention weve had in many many years said FRVTA Executive Director Lance Wilson And everything weve heard has been all positive People seem to appreciate learning information on different topics All our seminars were well attended as were our functions To be sure the convention provided a healthy mix of business and social activities with highlights including presentations by RV Industry Association RVIA President Frank Hugelmeyer and Phil Ingrassia president of the National RV Dealers Association RVDA Hugelmeyer touched on RVX The RV Experience as well as the RV Technical Institute while Ingrassia talked about a recent Baird survey that among other things indicated dealer inventories were in line with the retail demand thats out there 34 RVBusiness N O V E M B E R D E C E M B E R 2 0 1 8 The conference also featured Jason Hewlett who delivered an entertaining and motivating keynote presentation A veteran of the Las Vegas entertainment scene and speaker circuit Hewlett entertained the crowd with his impersonations of famous singers while cleverly weaving his message of delivering your signature move into his presentation Another speaker Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis provided attendees with an overview of the states legislative activities The convention also included a number of activities in keeping with the events space age RVs The New Frontier theme including The Launch Pad welcome reception Black Hole golf outing First Frontier Sip Paint craft project Area 51 hospitality room Houston We Have A Problem game show luncheon PHOTO BY J TYLER KLASSEN BY RICK KESSLER FRVTA Executive Director Lance Wilson left and Matt Gerzeny of Gerzenys RV World Hermit crab races were among the many extra activities designed to add a little fun to the event
